Mickey Mouse Conducting

The Sharon High School Music Department will be heading to the Magic Kingdom on Wednesday, March 4 for a long weekend trip, complete with parades, performances and music workshops.  There should be some time for enjoying all that with Wonderful World of Disney has to offer as well.

The Marching Tiger Band will be parading in the Magic Kingdom on Thursday March 5th at 2:30 PM. They will perform in front of thousands of guests throughout the park.  It is truly an honor and a privilege to be chosen to perform in Disney's premier theme park.

The HS choir will have the opportunity to learn from one of the most highly respected Disney performing arts clinicians as they participate in Disney Sings workshop. During this 2 1/2-hour program our students will record a song and dialogue from a Disney animated feature film's soundtrack in a fast-paced recording studio environment. At the end of the workshop, we will receive a recording of our own students singing as the music to a Disney movie.

The HS orchestra will be performing a concert on Sunday March 8th at 12:00 Noon. The concert will take place at the open air amphitheater at Disney Springs.

Orlando Florida is also hosting American String Teachers Association National Conference during the same weekend. This conference brings with it many string teachers and performers to the area adding even more prestige to our orchestra being selected to perform on that date and time.
